GoFresh Mobile Farmers Market
Springfield, MA
Center for Design Engagement
Spring 2015

The GoFresh Mobile Farmers Market brings local, fresh, affordable produce straight from the farm to the people, specifically targeting areas of the city that experience low access to transportation and have a high incidence of poverty.

The Go Fresh Market is a collaboration between the City of Springfield, three farms, community based organizations, public and private housing in the city, and public health professionals.

The market makes 9 stops across the city and in 2014 brought over 23,000 lbs. of fresh local produce to Springfield residents at affordable prices. The project is supported by the Food Justice efforts of the Mason Square Health Task Force and the Springfield Food Policy Council. The Go Fresh Mobile Market project has the support of PeoplesBank, PVTA, Health New England, the Davis Foundation, Springfield Technical Community College Foundation, City of Springfield Department of Elder Affairs, and Boston Medical Center Healthnet Plan.

It is an initiative of the Live Well Springfield movement to promote healthy eating and active living in Springfield, and it was designed by the Center for Design Engagement [C*DE]. I was responsible for producing construction + presentation drawings and engaged in its design development and client + fabricator meetings.
